We waited impatiently for the day when, together with our lecturer M. Ter-Hovhannisyan, we were to go to the House of the Artist to meet Rudolf Khachatryan, Honoured Artist of the Armenian SSR, and to see his works in the author's presence.
...His works, carefully hung in the exhibition hall, made us forget everything for a moment. It was as if there were no colours in these pictures. From the frames on the walls living human faces looked at us, with their emotions and experiences...
And that day I understood that what attracts me most in R. Khachatryan's works is their directness and their ability to reveal the human essence.
